Ahoy! We are already well into our 2022-23 Sunday Chowder Race season and having a blast! We have been lucky to have good weather as of this writing including sunny Sundays during the December rains, and we’re on track to hopefully sail on all 21 of our Chowder race days this season.
The first month saw J/105 Lulu skippered by Steven Hill take three of the first four races, and Lulu continues to lead the field with four first place finishes so far. Frequent contender Merit 25 Twilight Zone holds second place in the standings with 2 bullets.
Looking ahead on the calendar the final Sunday Chowder race is currently scheduled for Sunday, March 26. Traditionally Friday Night Beercan races start in April but this year we are looking to hold a first Friday Night race on March 31 to avoid a two-week gap. Look for confirmation closer to the date.
