Missed our March meeting? You missed an amazing presentation by James Frederick, aka James The Sailor Man, who shared his solo sailing adventures around the world. Over 75 people attended, and it was fantastic!
But do not worry if you missed it, because our big annual regatta, the Rollo Wheeler Regatta, is coming up on the weekend of April 11-12. Whether you're racing or not, you need to be at the club! If you're new to BYC, you should know that Wheeler weekend is a blast, starting with fresh oysters from The Tamales Bay Oyster Company. We drive up on Friday to purchase the oysters, start shucking at the clubhouse that evening, and continue Saturday after the race, followed by our member dinner with a live band.
Here's the schedule and volunteer opportunities:
Friday, April 11, 4:00pm: Oyster shucking & sales start and continue throughout the evening.
Saturday, April 12, 12:00pm: Racing starts.
Saturday, April 12, around 4:00pm: Oyster shucking resumes after the race and appetizers will be served in the bar area.
Saturday, April 12, 6:00pm: Member Dinner, featuring a pasta bar.
Sunday, April 13, 12:00pm: Racing continues.
Join us for a beer, shuck some oysters, enjoy delicious food, and dance to the band. It's the perfect way to spend a spring afternoon with great company!
We need plenty of volunteers to make this happen. So.Many.Oysters.To.Shuck. Come out and lend a hand!
