The Berkeley Yacht Club race team is thrilled to announce a doubleheader of exciting regattas this season.

Sailing League | May 3-4

St. Francis Yacht Club

In this national invitation-only competition, the BYC race team will face off in a fast-paced series featuring umpires, rapid boat and team changes, and numerous short, quick races. The winner of the league will advance to compete against top clubs on both national and international stages.

Lipton Cup | June 13-15

Richmond Yacht Club

Hosted this year at Richmond Yacht Club, this prestigious event will showcase the talents of skippers Moni Blum, David Janinis and Paolo Calafiura, along with team members Andrew Haggerty, Zach Parisa and Hawkeye King. Expect tight, exhilarating racing and a vibrant evening scene. The regatta features approximately 11 buoy races and two bay tour races, all sailed on St. Francis Yacht Club’s J/22s. Spectators can catch the buoy races near RYC from the water—details on boat-watching opportunities will be provided as the event approaches. Festivities include a Saturday night dinner and awards ceremony at RYC, followed by a celebration and awards event at SFYC on Sunday afternoon.
