Halfway Through 2024 Beercans

We are moving swiftly through the back half of our 2024 Beercan season with 18 of 29 races in the books.

After a strong early season start, our average participation per race is trending downward, currently standing at 10.1 boats per race. Eleven boats have completed more than nine total races this season, led by Olson 30 Maiden California and Ranger 33 Mojo with an impressive 17 races each.

We have seen a total of 30 boats enter at least one race this season, with several visiting from neighboring yacht clubs.The current 2024 fleet is comprised of 15 small boats, 14 big boats, and one multihull.

Olson 25 Omar leads our small boat fleet with eight wins, followed by Olson 25 Falkor with four wins, Santana 22 Mad Max with three wins, and Olson 25 Shadowfax with two wins.

Leading our big boat fleet, we have Olson 30 Maiden California with 11 wins to-date, followed by J105 Yellowfin’s three wins and J105 JGPC’s two wins.

Catalina 30 Joyous, a new boat to the fleet, has notably participated in eight races, with many of those races completed singlehanded.

We have had 12 boats participate as Race Committee volunteers over the course of the 2024 season to-date.
