The 2024 Berkeley Yacht Club Kid’s Camp was a swimming success! Our 8 kids kayaked, rode the Bobbi Tosse, and most importantly, sailed on BYC’s own fleet of dinghies. Despite limited time to learn each day before the heavier wind filled in, all of our participants were comfortable sailors by the end of our two weeks, and several were singlehanding!
We also took day trips aboard the Benjamin Waters and the Pegasus, giving the kids a chance to explore the Bay outside the limits of the Marina. When not on the water, they learned how to tie knots, played Ping Pong, and made bird feeders for Father’s Day. Our time at camp was capped off with a graduation ceremony for all of our campers. We can’t wait for next year, and hope to see even more kids for next year’s camp!
