First up at 6:00 PM is Weird Al Yankovic’s classic film in the zany genre, UHF. Co-starring Micheal Richards (pre-Kramer) as a nutty janitor at a TV station who takes over the children’s hour. Also featuring Emo Philips in a minor role, and Dr. DeMento himself in a cameo… Required viewing for Weird Al fans.
Then at 8:00 we get (slightly) more serious with Earth Girls are Easy. An off-course UFO crash lands in Geena Davis’ backyard swimming pool. Julie Brown (of "'Cause I'm a Blonde") plays a cosmetologist who brings the aliens to her beauty salon for makeovers. SoCal beach culture, as viewed through intergalactic eyes, on display.
