MARCH 16, 2019

Come join us for the March 16th monthly membership dinner, speaker is John Arndt.  John is the publisher of Latitude 38 and he will be talking about the magazine and the direction it is going.

Dinner will be a very traditional Irish dinner of corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. Please join us for no host cocktails at 1800 followed by dinner at 1900.

The March Corporate meeting is coming up on Saturday, March 23 and there will be a vote to move to monthly member billing instead of the current quarterly billing cycle. The advantage of this is that the BYC and our members are generally on a monthly budget cycle. By going to a monthly billing cycle we will be dramatically improving our cash flow and overall financial health. It will also help members keep up with member dues, etc and cut down on exorbitant past due amounts.

February Dinner Meeting and Speaker

February 16th

Our February dinner guest speaker will be our very own, Jim Fair who has circumnavigated the globe with his wife Linda Powers. Having traveled over fifty thousand miles on Chesapeake, their Outbound 46’ and visiting around forty-one countries has been the experience of a lifetime, that will be shared with us. We welcome this engaging talk filled with stories, challenges, culture, and various mirages of food from all over the world. Please join Berkeley Yacht Club on Saturday February 16th for our February membership dinner at 6pm for cocktail hour.

Ballena Bay YC is cruising into BYC CANCELLED

Saturday, February 23rd

Come out and join us for Dinner! After enjoying the hospitality of many a yacht club during our BYC cruise outs, we'd like to start extending that same hospitality to our cruise ins... and have some fun ourselves!

The Ballena Bay Yacht Club will be cruising in to the BYC guest dock on February 23, so let's turn out and show them some hospitality. Club Manager Philip is going to arrange for some dinner for all of us, but we'll need some help/volunteers to set up, etc. that night.


Come join us at the BYC for America's favorite holiday The SUPER BOWL No host bar Come watch the "big game" this Sunday 02/03 here at the club! The game will be on multiple TVs for your viewing enjoyment!

We will be also serving a variety of awesome finger foods including (but not limited to):

NorthU Sail Trim Seminar

Hi again from your still shiny fleet captain, Tibu.  Not judging but some in our fleet might use some sailing trimming knowledge. On Saturday, February 23rd we are hosting a full day seminar with NorthU. It's from 9 am to 4 pm and its going to be great. By attending you will be not only getting those extra tips you need to win but supporting the club.

January 19th Dinner Meeting

In case you were wondering, the first member dinner of 2019 is this Saturday, January 19th.   It promises to be both intellectually stimulating and joyous on the palette. A veritable symphony of savory and sweet that will leave you wondering what the heck we could possible do in February. Our presenter will be Mr. Paul Kamen who will enthrall you with stories of his Pac cup 2018 experience that included the three week trip back in a leaky but damn good looking boat.

The Commodore's Mystery Cruise

The Commodore's Mystery Cruise will begin Tuesday morning, January 1, 2019 with a pancake breakfast and coffee. The full scope and nature of the cruise will then be revealed. It promises to be international, educational, traditional, gastronomical, economical and a general good time.
