The Commodore's Mystery Cruise

January 1, 2019

The Commodore's Mystery Cruise will begin Tuesday morning, January 1, 2019 with a pancake breakfast and coffee. The full scope and nature of the cruise will then be revealed. It promises to be international, educational, traditional, gastronomical, economical and a general good time. If you think you will be participating in said cruise out please RSVP me by responding to this email or at markwbird@yahoo.com.

New Year's Eve Celebration!

Do not make any plans for New Year's Eve other than to attend the NYE Bash at the Berkeley Yacht Club!

Come out to the BYC and get jiggy with it on Monday, December 31 from 8:00 pm to 12:30 am. Shake what you got to the tunes of the Blues Bottle Band and enjoy delicious Tapas served to you by Stagione Italiane and Chef Lorenzo Bonissoni. Specialty beverages made with love will be available. This will be a catered event with live music so do not miss it! Look for more info in the next couple of days

Children's Holiday Party and Lunch

Bring your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or the cute tot next door or just come and enjoy the smiling faces of other members' kids! There will be much to entertain and Santa will make his annual appearance by sea. Be sure to bring a gift for each child escorting you clearly labeled with his or her name. (Please write clearly and attach the label so Santa can get the right presents to the child).

Holiday Toy Drive

Ahoy Berkeley Yacht Club!

We will be participating in a holiday toy drive for needy children this season. A box for new unwrapped children's gifts has been conveniently placed in the central lounge space of the club for your convenience. We would like to have an OVERFLOWING box to donate by December 18th. You might consider bringing a gift as early as this Friday!  We would appreciate YOUR help as well!

BYC 2018 Awards Presented

Recently, the retiring commodore of the Berkeley Yacht Club awarded a number of special presentation awards at the Commodore’s Ball Saturday, December 1st.  It was a gala-dinner event at the club in which the Change of Watch occurred, and a number of distinctive awards were presented, all prior to installing the 2019 Board of Directors.

Lobsters Lobsters and more Lobsters November 17, 2018

November means lobster. This month's dinner meeting is Saturday, November 17th.

This is also the month in which we announce the newly elected Board of Directors for 2019 but mainly it's lobster. The dinner menu will include:

Appetizer: Shrimp Cocktail

First Course: Ceasar Salad

Main Course: Maine Lobster /  Idaho garlic smashed potatoes / California corn on the cobb

Dessert: Autumn apple pie a' La mode

Election of the 2019 BYC Board of Directors

Election of the 2019 Berkeley Yacht Club Board of Directors Ballot will be mailed to you by October 31st.  Please return your ballots by mail or in person to the club no later than Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1800 (6:00pm).

This month's dinner will be our Oktoberfest dinner and our fall corporation meeting so come in your best business casual attire and be prepared to make venn diagrams out of your weinersnitchel. The dinner will be traditional and delicious German fair such as Bratwurst, sauerkraut and German potato salad with perhaps a nice apple strudel for dessert. A more detailed menu will be posted soon.
