As of yet, the 2020 Lipton Cup is still on so it is prudent to plan as if it will happen. For those of you not familiar with the Lipton Cup, this is a three day regatta sailed with J-22's provided by the host club (SBYC) with the bay area clubs competing against each other as teams. The BYC is in need of experienced racers to crew. There will be several events each with specific rules about the qualifications for the helmsmen: They are:
June 19: Admirals Cup - Destination Race - helmsperson must be over 60 by 6/21/2020.
June 20 - Sir Thomas Lipton Challenge Trophy - Bouy racing (up to 7 races) - helmsperson must be over 25 by 6/20/2020.
June 21 - Larry Night Trophy - Destination race - helmsperson must be female by 6/20/2020.
Each boat will have a total of four (4) crewmembers. The above criteria apply to the helmsperson only.
This is a competive club event so we are looking for experienced racers. We will be scheduling some practice races to get familiar with the boats and each other.
If you are interested in representing TEAM BYC in this event please email me at the address listed below with your racing experience/qualifications and let me know which events you are interested in.
