With the Vice Comodore Colin Thompson's Party last night it is time for Kid's Kamp 2018.
Ahoy there! Kids Kamp registrations is complete and we have a FULL Kamp again this year. The agenda for the week we don’t expect any changes, but it’s always possible. Please make a note of the fact that Wednesday and Thursday are bring-your-own-lunch days. We recommend sack lunches with food that doesn’t require utensils and doesn’t have a tendency to leap from its container and fly downwind in a stiff breeze. It’s possible we’ll be having lunch outside those two days. Also note that kids under 8 will not be allowed on Pegasus or Benjamin Walters. That’s unfortunate, but we’ll have something for them to do harborside (dashing through the waves and getting soaked aboard the Bobbi Tosse (the club’s Boston Whaler) always seems to have a way of curtailing disappointment!) There are no such age restrictions for the Derek M. Baylis.
Finally, there are some things the kids should bring every day. First and foremost is, of course, a towel. (But of course, those of you who have read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy already know that!) They should also bring plenty of sunscreen and a pair of sunglasses (a backup pair is always a good idea too), as well as a change of clothes. For the adventure sails, they should dress in layers, and if they have anything waterproof, consider it for a top layer. Finally, on Friday, we’ll be going to the Adventure Playground, where we’ll be working with tools and paint, and the Adventure Playground folks recommend clothing that you don’t mind throwing away afterward.
I think that’s it. See ya’ll on the 18th!
