Vice Commodore Hell Week this year begins on Saturday, June 16th, with the Vice Commodore’s Bon Voyage Dinner Event. That’s roughly 3 weeks before some of our intrepid members will be heading out the gate for a 2000-mile ocean race, Cruise Chair Peter Masson’s Cetacea and Wyatt Jones, skipper on Imagine along with Fleet Captain David Janinis and veteran Pacific Cup racer Paul Kamen as navigator being among the entrants. So, we’ll be holding a Hukilau in their honor and munching on some Hawaiian cuisine prepared by BYC’s own Kahunas* Sandra and Lauren, while Greg Newman and Susan Wells tell us a few stories about their adventures aboard their Caliber 40 LRC, Rapture, in the previous couple of Pac Cup races.
So, wear your Hawaiian shirts and/or Pac Cup attire and come help us sendoff Cetacea and Imagine, and all of our members who are racing “the fun race to Hawaii!” Pacific Cup celebrates 40 years and 20 races and BYC has participate in all of them. It will be a feast for all along with mai tai's, music, entertainment, and aloha wear contests as well as for the fearless, a Hula dancing contest.
Fill your opu (tummies) with ono Kau Kau (delicious food). Get your reservations in soon so we can have enough good kine grinds (delicious food) served hukilau style. Please contact manager Mark S with reservations firstname.lastname@example.org or call 510.843.9292. Cost $25.00. Past Pacific Cup Racers and 2018 Lipton Cup Racers Special $20.00 with reservations.
