NOTE:What a wonderful dinner the Mulligatawny Stew (more a soup) was outstanding along with the Pork Chops, salad and dessert. Thanks again to our Rear Commodore Colin Thompson, Lauren Knobel and our galley staff for this enjoyable evening of food and entertainment. Simon (or evil twin brother Stephen) performed and explained the history of the fiddle tunes, sea chanteys and more. Thanks again, Bob and Betty Gray
With no dinner meeting during the month of July, I'm sure you are all getting pretty hungry by now! (I certainly am!) Well, there is good news! On August 12th (yes, I know that is the second Saturday) Simon Spaulding and his fiddle are back to entertain us with "Music in the Age of Sail", including fiddle tunes, forebitters (seagoing ballads), and sing along sea chanteys.
Before he gets started though, Sandra and Lauren will be doing some fiddin' of their own in the galley with a slight variation on one of Mr. Spaulding's recipes; Mulligatawny Stew. I hear it's tasty enough to put the press gang out of work.
